My Mistake

Loveth and Stephen had been dating for about a year now, and their love for each other had only grown stronger. They decided to go to their favorite eatery in town to celebrate their anniversary.

As they sat down at a table, Loveth couldn’t help but admire Stephen. “I can’t believe it’s been a year already. I’m so happy to be with you,” she said with a smile.

Stephen returned the smile and held Loveth’s hand across the table. “Me too, Loveth. You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love you.”

They both ordered their favorite dishes and talked about their plans for the future. “I see myself spending the rest of my life with you, Loveth. I want to make you happy every day,” Stephen said, looking into her eyes.

Loveth felt her heart flutter and leaned in closer to Stephen. “That’s all I could ever ask for, Stephen. You make me so happy. I love you too.”

As they finished their meal, Loveth felt grateful for Stephen’s love and the time they had spent together. She knew that their bond would only continue to grow stronger with time.

The next day, As Stephen and Loveth sat together in his cozy living room, Stephen cleared his throat and looked at Loveth with a serious expression on his face.

“Loveth, I have some news. I have to go away on a business trip for a week,” he said.

Loveth’s face fell, and she looked down at her hands in disappointment. “Oh no, for how long?” she asked, trying to hide the disappointment in her voice.

“For a week. I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning,” Stephen replied.

“I’m really going to miss you,” Loveth said, her voice cracking slightly. “I wish you didn’t have to go.”

Stephen reached over and took her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “I’ll miss you too, Loveth. But it’s just for a week. We’ll keep in touch and I’ll be back before you know it.”

Loveth looked up at him with a soft smile. “Okay, I trust you. But promise me you’ll call me every day?”

“Of course, I will,” Stephen promised, pulling her into a warm embrace. “I’ll call you every day and tell you all about my trip. And when I get back, we’ll spend some quality time together, just the two of us.”

Loveth nodded, feeling comforted by his words. “That sounds lovely,” she said, leaning into his embrace.

As they sat together, Loveth couldn’t help but think how much she would miss him and how much she deeply cared for him.

A week later, Stephen came back from his business trip and picked up Loveth for a date. They went to a fancy restaurant, and Stephen ordered their favorite dishes. Loveth was happy to see Stephen again and couldn’t wait to spend time with him.

As they ate, Loveth mustered up the courage to bring up the topic of marriage. “Stephen, I’ve been thinking a lot about our future together,” she said, taking a sip of her wine. “Do you have any plans for us?”

Stephen looked up from his plate and met Loveth’s gaze. “What do you mean?” he asked, looking puzzled.

“I mean, do you see us getting married someday?” Loveth clarified.

Stephen sighed and looked down at his plate. “Loveth, we’ve been through this before,” he said, shaking his head. “I’m not ready for marriage yet. I’m still focused on building my career.”

Loveth’s heart sank, and disappointment filled her. She had hoped that Stephen had changed his mind and was ready to take their relationship to the next level. “But we’ve been together for so long,” she protested. “Don’t you think it’s time we start thinking about our future together?”

Stephen looked at Loveth, his expression softening. “I understand how you feel, Loveth,” he said, reaching out to hold her hand. “But I’m just not ready yet. I hope you can understand that.”

Loveth pulled her hand away and looked down, feeling hurt and rejected. She had always dreamed of getting married and starting a family, but it seemed like Stephen didn’t share the same aspirations.

She felt a knot form in her stomach as Stephen’s words sank in. She had hoped that he would have a change of heart, but it seemed like he was firm in his decision. She tried to keep her composure as she spoke, “Stephen, I just need to know where we stand. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you, but I need to know if you feel the same way.”

Stephen sighed and looked down at his hands, “Loveth, I care about you, but marriage is not something that I see in my future right now. I have other priorities, and I don’t want to rush into anything.”

Loveth felt tears prick at her eyes. She had hoped for a different answer, and the disappointment was palpable. “Stephen, I understand that you have other priorities, but I need to be with someone who shares my values and goals for the future. I can’t keep waiting around for you to change your mind. I think we need to take a break and figure out what we really want.”

Stephen nodded, “I understand, Loveth. I don’t want to keep you waiting around either. I care about you too much to keep stringing you along. Let’s take a break and see where things go.”

The conversation ended on a somber note, and Loveth left the restaurant feeling unsure about her future. She knew that she had to prioritize her own happiness and needs, even if it meant letting go of someone she loved.

Few days later, Loveth sat alone at the bar, deep in thought about her future with Stephen. She couldn’t shake off the feeling that she was wasting her time with him. As she sipped on her drink, a tall, dark, and handsome man walked in and took a seat next to her.

“Hey there, what’s a beautiful lady like you doing all alone?” the man asked, smiling charmingly.

Loveth forced a smile and looked away, “Just thinking about some things.”

“Mind sharing with me?” he persisted.

Loveth hesitated for a moment before deciding to open up. “It’s just that I’m in love with someone who doesn’t want to get married, and I don’t know if I should keep waiting or move on,” she said, her voice laced with frustration.

Andrew listened intently and nodded sympathetically. “I can understand how you feel. But you deserve someone who wants the same things as you. Someone who will cherish and appreciate you.”

Loveth looked at him in surprise, feeling a spark of attraction. “Do you think so?”

Andrew smiled warmly. “Absolutely. Life is too short to waste it on someone who doesn’t value you. You deserve to be happy, and I can see that you have so much to offer.”

Loveth blushed and felt a flutter in her heart. Andrew’s words resonated with her, and she found herself drawn to him. They continued talking and laughing, and by the end of the night, Loveth felt a connection with Andrew that she had never felt with Stephen.

As they parted ways, Andrew slipped a piece of paper with his number into her hand. “Call me anytime you need someone to talk to or just want to hang out,” he said, winking at her.

Loveth smiled and watched as he walked away, feeling hopeful about her future for the first time in a long time.

Some weeks later, Andrew invited Loveth over to his mansion, hoping to spend more time with her. As they sat in the living room, Loveth was deep in thought, still struggling with the situation with Stephen.

“What’s bothering you, Loveth?” Andrew asked, breaking the silence.

“It’s just… Stephen,” Loveth sighed, “He doesn’t want to commit to a serious relationship. I don’t know where I stand with him.”

Andrew listened intently and then spoke, “Loveth, I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now. I have feelings for you. I know this might not be the right time, but I can’t keep it to myself any longer.”

Loveth was taken aback by Andrew’s confession. She had always found him attractive, but she never imagined he felt the same way about her.

“I don’t know what to say, Andrew,” Loveth replied, still in shock.

“I understand,” Andrew said, “But please, just think about it. I want to make you happy.”

After some time, Loveth decided to give Andrew a chance. But she felt like she had to be honest with him about her situation with Stephen. She requested to meet Stephen to have a talk and end things with him properly.

Andrew agreed and offered to go with her for moral support. The next day, they went to Stephen’s office, and Loveth explained her decision to him.

“I’m sorry, Stephen,” Loveth said, “I have to move on with my life. I can’t wait forever for you to decide if you want to be with me or not.”

Stephen was surprised and upset but respected Loveth’s decision. Loveth thanked him for the time they spent together and wished him well.

After a few months, Andrew and Loveth already got married, it was their first night as married couple,
they were together in bed after a long day at the wedding.

“I can’t believe the day is over,” Loveth said, resting her head on Andrew’s shoulder.

“It was amazing, my love. I’m glad we’re finally alone,” Andrew replied, wrapping his arm around her.

They sat there in silence for a moment, enjoying the moment and reflecting on their wedding day. Loveth couldn’t help but feel grateful for Andrew, he was everything she had ever wanted in a man.

“I have to tell you something, Andrew,” Loveth said, looking up at him.

“Of course, what is it?”

“I love you, more than anything in this world. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.”

Andrew smiled, “I love you too, Loveth. You’re my world, my everything.”

They both leaned in for a kiss, and as they pulled away, Andrew whispered, “I have a surprise for you, my love.”

“What is it?” Loveth asked, intrigued.

“You’ll find out soon enough,” Andrew said, winking at her.

They both laughed, and cuddled up together under the covers, excited for what the future holds for them.

Stephen had always been ambitious and determined to make something of himself, and after years of hard work and dedication, he finally achieved his dream. He won a big contract that allowed him to start his own company.

As he sat there, lost in thought, his phone rang. It was his best friend, David.

“Hey, Stephen! I heard the news, congratulations! That’s amazing!”

Stephen couldn’t help but smile at David’s enthusiasm.

“Thanks, man. It’s been a long road, but it’s all starting to pay off.”

“I’m so happy for you, buddy. You deserve it. So, what’s next?”

Stephen paused for a moment, considering his options. “I think it’s time to expand. I want to take on bigger projects, and maybe even start looking at opportunities abroad.”

David chuckled. “Wow, you really don’t waste any time, do you?”

Stephen laughed. “Nope, can’t afford to. There’s still so much I want to accomplish.”

“Well, I have no doubt you’ll do great things, my friend. Keep me updated, okay?”

“Will do, David. Thanks again for the support.”

As he hung up the phone, Stephen couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and excitement. The future was looking brighter than ever, and he was ready to take on whatever came his way.

Stephen had just opened a new branch for his company, and he was excited to start hiring new employees. He was reviewing some applications when he noticed a familiar name: Loveth. He was surprised to see her applying for a job in his company. He had not seen her since the day they had parted ways years ago.

Stephen was curious about why Loveth would apply for a job in his company. He wondered if she knew that he owned the company. He called her in for an interview, and when she walked into his office, they were both taken aback.

“Stephen!” Loveth exclaimed, surprised to see him.

“Loveth!” Stephen said, equally surprised.

They both hesitated for a moment before Stephen broke the silence. “I had no idea you were applying for a job in my company,” he said.

“I had no idea you owned this company,” Loveth replied.

Stephen smiled. “Well, now that you’re here, why don’t we catch up and talk about the job? I’m actually in need of a personal assistant for this branch.”

Loveth smiled back. “I would love to work for your company, Stephen. And I think I would be perfect for the job.”

Stephen nodded. “I agree. You’re hired.”

Loveth was ecstatic. She couldn’t believe she would be working with Stephen again. She was determined to make the most of this opportunity and prove to Stephen that she was a valuable employee.

As Loveth settled into her new role as Stephen’s personal assistant, she found herself spending more and more time with him. They would have lunch together almost every day, and Loveth found that she was enjoying Stephen’s company more than she had anticipated.

Stephen, too, was finding himself drawn to Loveth. He was impressed with her work ethic and her ability to keep him organized, but he was also starting to remember why he had fallen in love with her in the first place. They had a lot of shared history, and Stephen realized that he had never really gotten over Loveth.

One day, after they had finished their lunch and were walking back to the office, Stephen turned to Loveth and said, “You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about us lately.”

Loveth’s heart skipped a beat. “What do you mean?”

“I mean, I can’t deny that I still have feelings for you, Loveth. And I know that things didn’t work out between us before, but I can’t help wondering if we could give it another try.”

Loveth was taken aback. She had never expected Stephen to say something like that. “Stephen, I don’t know what to say,” she stammered.

“I understand if you need some time to think about it,” Stephen said. “But I just wanted you to know how I feel.”

Loveth nodded, still in shock. As she returned to her desk, she couldn’t stop thinking about what Stephen had said. Was she ready to give him another chance? Did she still have feelings for him, too? She knew that she needed to sort out her own feelings before she could make any decisions.

Loveth sat in her room, staring blankly at the wall as she pondered about her current situation. She was happily married to Andrew, but she couldn’t deny the fact that she still had feelings for Stephen. The way he looked at her, the way he spoke to her, and the way he carried himself had always fascinated her.

She couldn’t help but wonder what could have been if things had turned out differently. But then she shook her head, trying to push those thoughts away. She was married to Andrew now, and she couldn’t betray his trust and love for her.

Yet, the more she tried to push the thoughts away, the more they seemed to linger in her mind. She didn’t know what to do or who to talk to about her dilemma.

The next day at work, Stephen walked up to Loveth at work and said, “Loveth, we need to travel to represent the company in a business trip. It’s important, and I need you to come with me.”

Loveth was hesitant, knowing she would need to inform her husband, but replied, “Okay, I’ll make arrangements to go. How long will we be gone?”

“Two days, we need to attend a conference,” Stephen replied.

Later that evening, Loveth spoke to her husband about the business trip, leaving out the fact that Stephen was her boss. “Andrew, my boss and I have to travel for work for two days. It’s important, and I need to go.”

Andrew, not suspecting anything, replied, “Of course, Loveth. Just be careful and keep in touch.”
Loveth was relieved that Andrew didn’t ask for more details about the trip. She didn’t want to lie to him, but she also didn’t want to complicate things between them.

After attending the business meeting, Loveth and Stephen sat down to talk about the events of the day. As they sat in a restaurant, Stephen turned to Loveth and said, “Loveth, I need to tell you something. I have feelings for you. I have tried to ignore them, but I just can’t anymore.”

Loveth was taken aback and replied, “Stephen, I’m flattered, but you know I’m married. I can’t do anything about your feelings.”

Stephen looked down, feeling disappointed. “I know, Loveth. I just had to tell you how I feel. I understand that we can’t be together, but I needed to get it off my chest.”

Loveth felt conflicted, knowing that she had also developed feelings for Stephen again. She looked at him and said, “Stephen, I can’t deny that I have feelings for you too, but I made a commitment to Andrew. I can’t just throw that away.”

Stephen nodded in understanding. “I know, Loveth. I respect that. I won’t push you to do anything you’re not comfortable with. Let’s just enjoy the rest of the trip and continue to work together.”

They continued to talk for a while longer, but the mood had shifted. They both knew that their feelings for each other were still there, but they also knew that it was best to leave it at that. They finished their conversation and headed back to their hotel rooms.

The next morning, Loveth and Stephen found themselves in the same bed, having made a terrible mistake. Loveth was filled with regret and began to cry, feeling ashamed and guilty for betraying her husband.

“I can’t believe we did this,” Loveth sobbed, wiping away her tears. “I’m so sorry, Stephen said. I don’t know what came over me.”

Stephen looked at her with a mixture of sadness and disappointment. “I know we both made a mistake, Loveth. But we can’t undo what’s been done. All we can do now is face the consequences.”

Loveth nodded, still crying. “I know. I just don’t know how to tell my husband. He trusts me so much, and I’ve betrayed him in the worst possible way.”

Stephen reached out to comfort her, but Loveth pulled away. “Please don’t touch me, Stephen. I need to figure out what to do next.”

Stephen nodded and got out of bed, giving Loveth some space. “I understand. We’ll figure this out together, Loveth. I’ll be here for you.”

Loveth nodded, still crying, as Stephen left the room. She knew she had to face the consequences of her actions, but she had no idea where to begin. make it longer
Loveth spent the rest of the day in the hotel room, feeling lost and confused. She couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened and the pain she had caused her husband. She knew she needed to tell him the truth, but the thought of it made her sick to her stomach.

After returning from the business trip, Loveth found it hard to act normally around her husband. Andrew noticed her behavior and asked her what was wrong, but Loveth just gave him a fake smile and said she was tired from the trip.

As the days passed, Loveth’s guilt and shame continued to weigh heavily on her. She couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened with Stephen, and the thought of keeping it a secret from her husband was eating her up inside.

One day, Andrew came home early from work and found Loveth crying in their bedroom. “What’s wrong, Loveth? Please talk to me,” he pleaded, sitting beside her on the bed.

Loveth took a deep breath and finally decided to tell him the truth. “Andrew, there’s something I need to tell you. When I went on the business trip with my boss, Stephen, we made a mistake. We ended up sleeping together.”

Andrew was shocked and hurt by Loveth’s confession. He couldn’t believe that his wife would betray him like that. “How could you do this to me, Loveth? I trusted you,” he said, his voice shaking with anger and pain.

Loveth hung her head in shame, tears streaming down her face. “I know, Andrew. I’m so sorry. I don’t expect you to forgive me, but I had to tell you the truth.”

Andrew stood up and walked out of the room without saying another word, leaving Loveth alone with her thoughts and regret.

Over the next few days, Andrew hardly spoke to Loveth, and their home was filled with tension and silence. Loveth knew she had hurt him deeply, and she didn’t know if their marriage would survive this betrayal.

She spent her days in a daze, replaying the events of the business trip and her affair with Stephen.

Andrew struggled to come to terms with what had happened, and it was difficult for him to trust Loveth again. However, after some time, they started to work on rebuilding their relationship.

Loveth was determined to make things right and knew that she had to take responsibility for her actions. She decided to resign from her job at the company and cut all ties with Stephen. It was a difficult decision, but she knew it was necessary for the sake of her marriage.

Andrew appreciated Loveth’s efforts and willingness to make things work. They talked about the issues that led to Loveth’s infidelity. Through open communication and forgiveness, they were able to renew their love and become stronger than ever.

Andrew learned to trust Loveth again, and Loveth worked hard to regain his trust. They went on dates and made time for each other despite their busy schedules.

The experience had taught them both a valuable lesson about the importance of communication and trust in a relationship. They knew that they had to be open and honest with each other to prevent any future misunderstandings or mistakes.

In the end, their love for each other prevailed, and they were able to overcome the challenges that came their way. They were grateful for the opportunity to rebuild their relationship and grow stronger as a couple.
